Recipe FAQs and Notes
What kind of meat is venison
Venison is meat harvested from deer. The term is sometimes used with meat from other game animals but most commonly refers to deer.
Can I make this ahead of time?
If you need to cut down on prep time, you can cook the venison and mix all of the ingredients in the crockpot, then refrigerate until ready to heat. I would not heat and melt the queso dip until you are ready to serve.
Can I add other ingredients to the venison queso dip?
Of course! You could add jalapeños for some additional heat, or even corn, black beans, or diced onions to the dip.
