Ingredients needed
- 2 pounds ground venison
- 1 cup panko bread crumbs
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tbsp. minced garlic
- 16 ounces grape jelly
- 12 ounces chili sauce
- 1/4 cup pineapple juice
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
How to make Crockpot Venison Meatballs
- Add the ground venison, bread crumbs, eggs, and minced garlic to a large mixing bowl. Using your hands, combine the ingredients together.
- Then, begin to make your meatballs. Scoop out one heaping tablespoon of the meat mixture and roll into a ball, about 1 inch or the size of a golf ball. Place into the bottom of the crock pot. Continue the process until all of the meat mixture has been made into meatballs.
- Once all of the meatballs have been made and are in the crockpot, add the remaining ingredients.
- Place the lid onto the crockpot then turn on high heat and cook for 3-4 hours, checking every hour and gently stirring. If you notice them getting too hot, you can reduce the heat to low.
- When done, turn off heat and serve.
Recipe FAQs and Notes
Will regular bread crumbs work in meatballs?
They will. If you have bread crumbs, you can use that in place of the panko bread crumbs so that you don’t have to run to the store.
Why are my meatballs dry?
The good news about this recipe is that since you’re cooking the meatballs in a slow cooker with a sauce, you’re not going to have to worry about overcooking or dried-out meatballs at all!
Can you freeze cooked meatballs?
Absolutely. If you want to make up some meatballs and freeze them for later, this is the perfect recipe for that! Just cook up, and freeze. You can also freeze them when they’re raw as well.
