You can pair these meatballs with noodles or let them stand alone on their own. They’re hearty enough to be the main meal but can be great as a simple appetizer, too.
– 1 pound ground beef – 1/2 pound ground Italian sausage or ground pork – 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese – 1 large egg – 1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning – 1/2 tsp. salt – 1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs – 1/2 white onion – diced – 1 tsp. minced garlic – 1 jar marinara
1. Preheat the Traeger grill to 350 degrees F. 2. In a large bowl, add all of the ingredients and mix to combine. 3. Roll the meat mixture into 1-1.5 inch round meatballs and place them onto a baking sheet. 4. Smoke for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F.
5.Remove from the Traeger. 6. Transfer the meatballs to a large cast-iron skillet, and pour the jar of marinara over the meatballs. Place the skillet onto the Traeger and let heat for about 10 minutes, just enough to warm the sauce. 7. Serve over pasta of your choice.
The internal temperature will be your biggest clue. Invest in a meat thermometer that will show you that the internal temp is at least 160 degrees.
