This venison casserole is made with tender venison meat, savory vegetables, and a rich, flavorful sauce, and it’s sure to satisfy your hunger.
Ingredients needed
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 lb lean ground venison
- 1 cup water
- 1 oz taco seasoning
- 1 cup yellow onion – diced
- 20 oz Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies, drained
- 12 oz canned corn, drained
- 3 cups Bisquick mix
- 1 cup water
- 8 oz. cream cheese – softened
- ½ cup mayo
- 2 Tbsp. chopped chives
- 1 Tbsp onion powder
- ½ tsp. salt
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese blend
How to make Venison Casserole
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
- Heat the olive oil over medium heat in a large skillet, then add the ground venison and cook thoroughly.
- Add in the water and taco seasoning; mix well and simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Add in the diced onions, Rotel, and corn and mix to combine. Reduce heat to low and let simmer.
- Combine the Bisquick and water in a large mixing bowl and stir until combined.
- Grease a 9×13 baking dish; spread the Bisquick dough evenly, covering the bottom of the dish.
- Next, spread the ground beef mixture evenly over the top of the dough.
- Add the cream cheese, chives, mayo, onion powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl and mix with an electric mixer on low until smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture on top of the ground beef mixture as evenly as possible.
- Top with shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 40 minutes. Then remove and let cool for 2-3 minutes, then serve.
