This simple taco recipe is great for a fast and easy meal all year long. One batch of cooked venison meat feeds quite the crowd so invite family and friends to join in on the tasty fun.
Finding new ways to cook up venison meat is fairly simple to do. This is because the meat is easy to cook and a great way to use up the venison that you may have in your freezer.
The flavor is so similar to other types of ground-up cooked meat that no one will know that they’re eating venison unless you tell them.
Ingredients needed
- 4-6 radishes – diced
- 1/2 red onion – finely diced
- 2 Tbsp lime juice
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 tsp. salt – divided
- 1 pound ground venison
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 3/4 tsp. cumin
- 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
- 1 tsp. minced garlic
- 1/4 tsp. onion powder
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- Corn tortillas
How to make Ground Venison Tacos
- Prepare the radish salsa. Add the diced radishes, red onion, lime juice, cilantro, and ½ tsp. salt to a mixing bowl and stir to combine. Add more lime juice and salt to taste, if needed. Set aside
- Add the ground venison to a large skillet and heat over medium heat. Break up the meat while cooking and cook until no longer pink.
- Add the tomato sauce, chili powder, ½ tsp. salt, cumin, oregano, onion powder, and minced garlic to the skillet, stirring to combine.
- Let simmer for 5 minutes then remove from heat.
- Heat the corn tortillas by heating a small skillet over medium-high heat, then add the tortillas one at a time, heating each side for 1-2 minutes. You can also heat on the grill to give it a good charred flavor.
- Serve immediately.

You can. Corn tortillas and flour tortillas both work just fine. Just choose whichever ones you like best or do a combination of the two.
